Start small
For a first toy, choose something modest, smooth, and easy to control. Do not try to copy extreme sizes right away. Comfort, patience, and consistency matter more than size.
Recommended sizes
At the beginning, diameter matters much more than length. I recommend starting with a small, smooth toy that is easy to handle; it is the best way to explore calmly.
For reference, I started with toys around 2-3 cm in diameter, then moved to 4-5 cm. Today, I am more comfortable around 6-7 cm.
Choose the right shape
For anal use, always choose a toy with a flared base. Beginners usually do better with a simple shape before trying heavy texture, strong curves, or very realistic details.
Firmness matters
I recommend soft firmness when you are starting. It is more forgiving, easier to control, and usually less intimidating.
Medium firmness can be a good next step. Firm toys can feel much more intense, so I would not choose them as a first toy.
Material matters
For me, the safest material to look for is platinum silicone. On a product page, look for clear names like “100% Platinum Silicone”, “Platinum-Cured Silicone”, or “Body-Safe Platinum Silicone”.
Avoid PVC, jelly, TPE, TPR, rubber, and unclear material blends. If the composition is vague, skip it. For an insertable toy, the material should be clearly stated.
Use enough lube
With silicone toys, always use water-based lube. Avoid silicone-based lubes: they can mix with the toy material, damage it, and sometimes make the surface melt in an irreversible way.
Avoid oils too, because they can damage silicone. I personally use XLube: it is a powder lubricant you mix with water, so you can adjust the texture depending on how much water you add.
About enemas
An enema is optional, but it can help you feel cleaner and more relaxed before anal play. Use lukewarm water, keep the pressure gentle, and do not use soap, perfume, or harsh products internally.
As a simple reference, a small amount around 200 ml is often enough. The more water you use, the deeper it can go: it takes more time, can be more irritating, and is not necessarily better.
Avoid large volumes of water, because they can irritate your body and disturb your intestinal balance. For a small enema around 200 ml, keep it reasonable: about 3 times per week maximum. For a large enema, do it much less often, closer to 3 times per month maximum. If you feel discomfort, stop and give yourself time.
Progress slowly
Increase only one thing at a time: size, firmness, texture, or session length. Give your body time to adapt and do not force pain.
Clean and store
Wash your toy before and after use with warm water and mild fragrance-free soap, or with a silicone-compatible toy cleaner. Rinse well, let it dry fully, and store it separately. Avoid alcohol, bleach, harsh products, and scented soaps. If the surface becomes sticky, cracked, or damaged, do not use it anymore.
Listen to your body
Take breaks, stay relaxed, and stop if the session feels wrong. A good session should feel controlled, not rushed or forced.
Good first picks
If you want to try fantasy toys without starting with something too intimidating, check Nothosaur or Swisok first. They offer many models with a wide range of sizes, which makes them great for starting small and progressing gradually.
My favorite fantasy brand
Nyoon is my favorite brand. It is made in France, fully handmade, with excellent quality and a lot of detail. The wait time can be long right now, but to me it is clearly worth it.
For a realistic style
If you prefer a realistic-looking toy, QUTOYS is a good option to check. Start with a reasonable size you can actually use, instead of going straight for the biggest model.
Fantasy and realistic mix
If you like toys that sit between fantasy and realistic, check Hankey's Toys or Uberrime. For something bigger and more advanced, look at Greedy Cluster.
Advanced setups
For machines, Hismith is a good classic option. F-Machine is more pro-style. Fuck Yeah! is heavier and more digital.
